      F.A.Q.

Trying anything for the first time can be daunting. Here are a few of our most commonly asked questions to help overcome any last minute nerves. If you have any questions or would like more information about our classes contact us at:

how long will the class go for?
Classes usually go for an hour, although some of our classes are one and a half hours. If you or your child are unable to complete the class, let the instructor know and you are more than welcome to watch for the remainder of the lesson.

will the instructor be expecting me?

Yes the instructor will be expecting you. If for some reason you can’t make your first class, please let your GKR sales consultant know.

      what should i wear?

If you don’t have your uniform or are participating in a trial class, wear light comfortable clothes you can exercise in. Shorts and a t-shirt are perfect. You’ll be removing your shoes for the class so footwear type is not important.

      what is your fee structure?

Check with your GKR sales consultant for the latest fee schedule. You will pay a one off, lifetime membership and then for the classes. GKR has several class payment options, the most convenient being a weekly direct debit fee. For one low weekly charge you can train as many times as you like! GKR has no lock in contracts.

      How do i get started?

Simply contact us by phone, messenger or email and we’ll organise all of the paperwork to get you training. Choose your preferred location and we’ll let the instructor know to expect you.

what should i bring to my first class?

Please bring any paperwork given to you by your GKR sales consultant. We also recommend some water. Most importantly bring a smile and your willingness to give something new a go.

what will my first class be like?

Your first class will be light, easy and fun, so don’t worry about remembering too much. We’ll teach you some of the basic formalities and etiquette, plus a few strikes and blocks. Each lesson is designed to reinforce what you have already learnt, plus add a few new things. This way you’ll see progress without feeling overwhelmed.

what if i have an injury or disability?

Please let your instructor know before the class so they are aware of your limitations. All of our training is self-paced, so please do not perform any activity that you physically unable, or not ready to do.

What if my child has learning or behavioural difficulties?

Please let the instructor know before the class, including the specifics on how to best manage these behaviours. Please also lets us know if there are likely to be reactions to loud noises or boisterous games and activities.
